About the role:
We are looking for experienced Event Managers to join ESO’s Event Management team,
reporting to the event manager.

You will be responsible for working with local organizers and key suppliers to ensure all events are delivered to an exceptionally high standard. Excellent communication skills are essential for ensuring internal and external coordination and essential for liaising with colleagues from the ESO and WBD teams, in particular our Sport team who lead all elements of the competition.

This is a demanding and exciting role that requires meticulous event planning skills, a high level of motivation and energy. You will need a determination to get things done and the ability to plan and organize multiple events in parallel.

Job Responsibilities:
– Manage the delivery of events that are part of the UCI Mountain World Cup season liaising with Local Organizing Committees, ESO colleagues and series suppliers, creating and promoting a culture teamwork, strong relationships, best practices, and clear planning and delivery frameworks.
– Ensure that the needs of all functional areas and customer groups of the event are defined and provided by either the LOC or the ESO supplier(s).
– Develop and implement series-wide best practices by ensuring that ESO and LOC teams are working on a single, coordinated event plan with clear documentation of plans and delivery.
– Manage ESO relationships with identified suppliers throughout the season and ensure delivery standards are the highest possible.
– Identify innovation in event delivery to help raise the profile of the sport.
– Management of contracts of identified LOCs to ensure that agreed actions are taken and that the work of the LOC respects the agreed schedule.
– Support procurement of key ESO vendors through scope, bidding process and contracting to ensure clarity of delivery scope, budget and deliverables.
– Develop positive working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
– Identify and control risks to the series, limit liabilities and engage stakeholders with mitigation measures to eliminate or manage any risk.
– Develop and manage event-specific budgets, create forecasts and reports to inform the Event Manager through the various phases of event planning and delivery.
– Represent the goals of ESO by organizing events that make mountain biking one of the most respected sports in the world.

Live:
– Proven experience as an event manager, including events delivered internationally
– Experience in outdoor sporting events, preferably in the ATV/cycling industry. – Project management
– Financial and budget management
– Demonstration of managerial and leadership skills
– Developing relationships with new and existing partners
– A good understanding of health and safety and risk assessment through the delivery of large-scale events
– Dissemination of best practices on several sites
