We Are Moving The Needle – Project Manager (USA)

We Are Moving The Needle is a non-profit organization that supports all professional women in the recording industry, sound engineers and producers. We are an inclusive organization working to create measurable change by giving women in the recording and professional audio industry the education, equipment and mentorship to succeed at the highest level.

The organization provides resources and support to those who are at the very beginning of their training as well as those who are currently in their recording and production careers and are struggling with the male-dominated landscape of the industry. Data provided by the USC Annenberg Inclusion Initiative study on “inclusion in the recording studio” published March 8, 2021, which found that only 2% of producers and sound engineers were women, has inspired 8-time GRAMMY Lazar nominated mastering engineer Emily to create We Are Moving The Needle to specifically address the deficit. Although the Annenberg study accumulated its findings based on a male/female gender binary, We Are Moving The Needle is designed to be forward-looking with inclusion in mind and invites all people to participate.
