LEVER Architecture is a mid-size architectural firm based in Los Angeles, California and Portland, OR. We are looking for candidates to contribute and grow with an award-winning office dedicated to design, research and impactful projects across many different scales, regions and typologies. The company brings international experience and design excellence to a diverse range of building types, including institutional buildings, creative offices and multi-family housing, while being nationally recognized for technical innovation with the mass wood. The best candidates will have a demonstrated enthusiasm for design, good communication skills and experience in all phases of design.

As a project manager, you:

  • Display a passion and competence for exceptional design, including conceptualization, details and engineering design
  • Are autonomous, take initiative and seek thoughtful solutions for the execution of the design
  • Have relevant experience with complex projects
  • Have a thorough understanding of building, zoning, energy codes, ADA, building standards and other regulatory requirements
  • Seek commitment and collaboration at all levels towards design solutions, this includes internal and external design teams, clients, consultants and contractors
  • Are motivated to create something new every day and eager to lead a team
  • Demonstrate motivation in the search for new responsibilities and new challenges
  • Manage and coach team members from design to construction
  • Define direction for the execution of project goals and objectives with the project team and clients
  • Independently develop project proposals and add services, define and manage work plans, and organize and supervise design teams
  • Contribute to general initiatives and office-wide marketing efforts

To live:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture
  • 8 to 10 years of professional experience in architecture
  • Graduated architect is a plus
  • Experience and familiarity with industry standard design software including Revit required
  • Experience and knowledge of zoning and building codes an asset
  • Experience coordinating with engineers and consultants
  • Experience in producing sets of detailed construction documents and / or experience in construction administration


  • Comfortable working independently and as a productive member of a team
  • Very motivated, proactive and passionate
  • Well organized and detail oriented, with strong graphic and verbal communication skills
  • Interest in lifelong learning and taking action to promote diversity, equity and inclusion in the profession and the community
  • Must live or be willing to relocate to Los Angeles, CA or Portland, OR. LEVER is currently a remote working environment and will move to a hybrid office structure if public health permits

Tasks may include:

  • Reporting directly to the partner or primary manager
  • Production of diagrams, models, renderings and drawings for internal study, design presentation, consultant coordination and client presentations
  • Research and preparation of presentation materials
  • Coordination with various engineers and consultants as needed for the success of the different design phases
  • Responsibility for the management and / or production of construction documents and contracts
