Project Manager – Albany, NY, USA | Works

As the next project manager, you will help us plan and interpret various projects in all phases of development. This includes technical elements such as planning, budgets, as well as maintaining and updating the team and stakeholders on any major changes that may occur. The impact you will have is that we will be able to fulfill our clients’ wishes and dreams with every project, within the timeframe we expect. We realize that no project goes perfectly, but how you prepare for eventualities will help ensure that we run as smoothly as possible.

Each day you will be working in or around one or all of these elements:

  • You will lead the entire team working on assigned projects ensuring deadlines are met, status updates are accurate and related activities are on schedule.
  • Work with stakeholders to triage and create secondary action plans to get projects back on track
  • You will oversee the design and development of the team (from concepts to final drawings), yours and that of your colleagues. This includes new designs, concepts as well as alterations and modifications requested by our customers or building code requirements
  • Overseeing and managing the administrative aspects of building projects (i.e. working with municipalities on permit applications, filling out forms, sitting in front of planning boards, answering questions from clients, residents of the city, etc.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with our clients and other players in our industry (municipalities, business development, construction, etc.)
  • Last but not least, make sure all I’s are dotted and T’s are crossed out on everything you do

For THRIVE in this role, here’s what you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture or a related field to apply well-founded concepts to our projects
  • 8 to 10 years of experience in the architectural industry with medium to large projects
  • 5 years of direct project management experience (overseeing everything from soup to nuts) related to architectural projects
  • A leadership (not management) mindset (helping your colleagues and your organization grow)
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, as well as office and project management software (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook and MS Project)

Here is the type of person who fits our team:

  • Someone who wants to work collaboratively with his teammates. You might have something to teach or learn. We like to share.
  • Architecture enthusiast
  • Looking for a flexible working life – i.e. hybrid or office work style.
  • You need competitive benefits including paid time off, health insurance, etc.

What do we like to work with? We are collaborative and team-oriented. Yes really. Like the tide, we rise and fall together, so communication is key. That’s why we set clear goals and expectations among ourselves and with our customers. Does this sound like the type of environment you are looking for?

We realize it’s hard to know everything about a person from just a resume, just like you realize it’s hard to know everything about a company from a position. Apply today. Let’s talk and see if we’re a good match for each other.
