About you

You have a passion and background for delivering mobile and responsive native web applications while building a delivery-focused consultative relationship with your customers at the enterprise level as a Product Owner. You thrive leading agile software teams and understand the nuances of design, development and testing. You have expertise in understanding complex technology, translating a product vision into an actionable product backlog, and building empathy with your team by ‘getting in the weeds’ to solve challenges together .

As the Product Owner, you will be responsible for executing the product vision while facilitating backlog cleanup, prioritization, triage of issues, and other Scrum-based ceremonies. You must have a unique blend of business and technical understanding to communicate effectively with the client and your team. You have to enjoy learning about the product and understanding its users in order to make the best decisions for the product.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the client and / or internal product management to create and maintain the product backlog
  • Evaluate value, develop cases and prioritize the backlog of product features to ensure the team is focused on delivering maximum value
  • Host agile ceremonies with distributed team members
  • Manage the backlog, plan iterations and develop user stories
  • Facilitate communication between client stakeholders and members of the delivery team
  • Mitigate barriers impacting the team’s success in meeting release / sprint goals
  • Provide product demonstrations and presentations to customers
  • Monitor and communicate project status via status and progress reports
  • Work with QA engineers to create test plans
  • Coordinate and lead product launch activities
  • Define expectations for the delivery of new features
  • Collect and analyze feedback from customers, stakeholders and other teams to shape requirements, features and products

Terms & Conditions

  • Agency experience strongly preferred, experience in contact with the client is a must
  • 2+ years of experience as a product owner or business analyst
  • Preferred: Scrum Certification (CSPO / PSPO or similar)
  • Preferred: Experience in B2B and B2C software development
  • Preferred: Experience in web and mobile development
  • Ability to quickly assimilate technical and commercial concepts
  • Strong sense of empathy for the customer, end user and team
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent organizational, time management and project management skills
  • Tools: Experience with Jira required, Sketch (or similar design-based tool) is preferred
