municipal project manager announces his retirement | Rowboat key

James Linkogle, the city’s project manager with the public works department, told colleagues last week that he planned to retire this summer to spend more time with his family, including his eight grandchildren. .

Linkogle has worked for the city for 23 years and recently served as a resource person for the underground utilities project. Beyond that, however, he was involved in virtually every major undertaking in the department.

In addition to his day job, he is also a musician with the Blues Pig band of Longboat Key, a frequent performer at island events.

In 2018, he and Director of Public Works Isaac Brownman removed three troubled children from rip currents at the north end of the key.

“I offer ascending prayers and hope for your success in the future for everyone I have enjoyed working with over the past 23 years,” he wrote to his colleagues.

A farewell party for Linkogle is scheduled for August 3.
