Meet Planar’s expanded group of consultants, architects and designers

Earlier in June, Planar announced the expansion of the company’s Consultants, Architects and Designers (CAD) group to North America. The dedicated team helps AV technology consultants simplify the process of designing complex video walls and other display solutions in their clients’ largest and most demanding projects.

Planar’s CAD group analyzes customer project requirements and specifications, solves design challenges, and delivers visualization systems that will delight even the most demanding and creative technology visionaries. The CAD group is also a way for the design community to provide feedback to influence future Planar products and services.

Planar is expanding its CAD team with three new positions.

Planar’s CAD team is led by Lainie Mataras, who was recently promoted to Director after joining Planar as Business Development Manager in 2020. Mataras draws on her 25 years of experience in the commercial CAD industry. audiovisual and digital signage to lead the efforts of the Planar CAD group. , in addition to serving East Coast consultants, architects and audio-visual design firms.

The expansion of Planar’s CAD Group also welcomes Charles Duncan as Central and West Coast Business Development Manager. Duncan joins Planar with over 20 years of experience in the AV consulting market. Duncan will be Planar’s primary point of contact for AV consultants as well as architectural and design firms spanning the Midwest to the Pacific Rim.

The new dedicated team also features Orlando Helena who joins as a pre-sales applications engineer and will support Mataras and Duncan, covering all of North America. Helena brings eight years of experience in the AV industry, including a strong background in writing and drawing design packages. Previously, he worked as a designer for New York-based audiovisual consultancies CMS Audio Visual and Robert Derector Associates.
