We have a number of exciting projects underway and are looking for the next key player in our integrated design team: a full-time intermediate interior designer / project manager. Our ideal candidate is kind, hardworking, resourceful and a top notch communicator who has experience in both interior design and architecture, and is comfortable managing and leading small to medium projects independently. size and run a consistent design vision throughout. This person must have strong experience in concept generation as well as FF&E selection, specifications and documentation..   • Independently manage 1-2 small interior design projects, or interior workflows across 3-4 projects

  • Responsible for the management and execution of project deliverables including project work plan, SD / DD / CD drawing sets, 3D visualizations, project schedules and specifications on small design projects indoor

  • Develop a design concept and strategy, user experience journeys and mood boards through a research-based approach (with the support of the director)

  • Manage research, design, selection, specifications, documentation and (as needed) bidding / sourcing of interior design elements such as FF&E, custom furniture, finishes, carpentry, lighting, drapes, etc. for projects within defined budgets (with advice from the Director of Interior Design)

  • Develop key project presentations and present work during client presentations (with support from the manager)

  • Responsible for day-to-day communication and interface with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors and acting as a liaison with clients (with support from the manager)

  • Responsible for reviewing shop drawings and drafting RFI responses and clarifying sketches for interior design elements during construction administration (with manager support)

  • Maintain the material library and develop knowledge of relevant products

  • Help find unique and creative solutions to unique design problems

  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in an architectural or interior design office

  • Comfortable with multitasking and collaboration in a context of fast-paced projects and tight deadlines

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, resourceful, motivated, enthusiastic, flexible and willing to take on a variety of tasks

  • Excellent communication and customer contact skills

  • Experience in FF&E sourcing, documentation and specifications is essential

  • Work examples that demonstrate sophisticated design sensitivity and technical detail, as well as an ability to take the project from concept to completion

  • Proficiency in Revit, Autocad, Adobe Creative Suite, project management tools (Excel / Google Sheets / Smartsheet) and 3D modeling software (Rhino, SketchUp, etc.), as well as hand drawing!

  • Experience in on-site construction administration / FF&E installation an asset

  • Ideally currently living in NYC and available to start ASAP

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States, without the need for employer sponsorship
