A luxury-focused and famous New York interior design firm is looking for a knowledgeable, creative and versatile Project Manager to work on multiple projects in their growing New York office.
Committed, demanding and endowed with a keen sense of contemporary art, the successful candidate for this position will have excellent time management skills and will be familiar with all phases of design and construction. This role presents a magnificent opportunity to work on high-end residential interiors in a tight-knit team and could involve national travel.
Main responsibilities
- Confidently prepare drawings and plans for all aspects of a project, from floor plans and fixture details to furniture, material finishes, electrical arrangements, elevations and packages planning submission
- Facilitate smooth communication with existing and new customers by guiding conversations and paying close attention to requirements
- Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with other professionals, contractors, artisans and craftsmen to ensure excellence in all constructions and fabrications
- Prepare and maintain schedules and specifications
- Interpret and clearly communicate the design intent of project managers to other team members, suppliers, contactors and other professionals
- Has a thorough knowledge and understanding of custom furniture design including cabinet parts, tables, upholstery and window treatments.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a design position and a professional degree in interior design or interior architecture
- Possess in-depth knowledge of the interior design industry and locations to find the best materials and furniture
- Clearly propose solutions to problems with warm verbal, written and visual dexterity while thriving in a dynamic and close-knit team
- Balancing the specific residential design experience with receptivity to new ideas and unusual methods and uncompromising attention to detail
- Display a high level of technical knowledge of the genres of design, history and antiques
- Demonstrate precision in the generation of graphic presentations and drawing sets by knowing software programs including AutoCAD, Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office.
